In April 2022, police informed the Cashman family that their son, 38-year-old Johnny Cashman Jr, was discovered dead from an apparent medical condition inside his Virginia apartment. Although they were devastated by the news, they believed the police were right about what happened to Johnny. However, they later found out that his apartment was covered in blood and the scene looked nothing like the police described. The family now wants the police to investigate Johnny’s death as a possible homicide. What can the forensic evidence reveal about what happened to Johnny?

After listening to this episode. It makes me wonder if the police department had something to do with it? Like had him killed for a reason.
After listening to this episode I had to share my experience with GI bleeds. I’m a recovering alcoholic. I was a heavy vodka drinker for years. I was diagnosed by a Hepatologist with End Stage Liver Disease, Hepatic Encephalopathy, portal hypertension, esophageal varices and gastric varices. I’ve had numerous bleeds, mainly gastric bleeds after becoming sober. While suffering a gastric bleed (home alone) I was also having a Hepatic Encephalopathy episode (please Google it to understand) so I was extremely”out of it”. I don’t remember that entire day and luckily my boyfriend came home and found me when he did. He told me the house looked like a crime scene . I showed him the crime scene photos from this episode and he agrees with the possible GI bleed theory. Apparently I managed to vomit blood from the living room to the kitchen and all the way to our master bedroom and bathroom. Our house is not small, it’s about 1,800 square feet. Blood was coming out both ends. It took my boyfriend a couple hours to clean it all up. I ended up in a coma for 11 days and had numerous blood transfusions.
I’ve also had GI bleeds that I remember very clearly and they are messy. You can’t just hold it all in until you make it to the toilet/sink/ trashcan. So I can say that there is a very good chance that Johnny did suffer from a severe GI bleed. A general practitioner could not possibly diagnose varices without doing an endoscopy. Did he have any blood work done at his appointments? Depending on what type of blood tests he had they could tell if his liver was in trouble, at the very least.
