On July 15, 2008, 2-year-old Caylee Anthony from Orlando, Florida was reported missing by her grandmother, Cindy Anthony who had not been seen in 31 days. Cindy told police that Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony provided varied explanations regarding Caylee’s whereabouts. Casey told police her daughter had been kidnapped by her babysitter.
Casey Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree in October 2008 for her daughter, Caylee’s death. She pled not guilty and her case went to trial in May 2011.
After the jury deliberated for a little over 10 hours, they found Casey not guilty of first-degree murder.
